Chamber Golf Tournament

The Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce is very happy to announce that the Chamber’s annual Golf Tournament will take place on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Roebuck Golf Course with the proceeds benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network and Community Scholarships. Lunch and check-in for the tournament begin at 11:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Individual registration fees are only $100.00 per person, which includes green fees, carts, and refreshing beverages on the course. Local advertisers take note: hole sponsorships start at only $100 while cart sponsorships are just $250 (see Forms Page to download an application).

Be sure to complete your registration form and email or mail it to the Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce to participate. Miss Center Point 2012

Jamie Brooks - Miss Center Point 2012

The 2012 Miss Center Point Pageant was held on Saturday, July 9 at Center Point Elementary School. Jamie Brooks of Clay, Alabama was crowned the new Miss Center Point. Jamie is a graduate of Clay-Chalkville High School and currently attends the University of North Alabama. She will represent the City of Center Point in the 2012 Miss Alabama Pageant. Congratulations also go out to Briana Kinsey who was named 1st Runner Up.

Farmer’s Market Opens

The Center Point Farmer’s Market opened at a new location on Thursday June 2. The Market has been moved from the City Hall parking lot to Reed-Harvey Park on Polly Reed Road. The new location is shaded and has more convenient parking. Market hours are each Thursday from 1-5 p.m.

2nd Annual Festival of the Springs

The Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce is happy to announce that the 2nd annual Festival of the Springs will take place on Saturday April 30, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Reed-Harvey Park. Last year over 40 vendors were on hand selling jewelry, arts & crafts, food, etc. This year, we expect an even greater selection along with games and rides for the children in addition to live entertainment on the hour. Local favorite, Jeff Otwell will be on hand with his country flavor along with choirs from both Erwin High School and Jefferson State Community College. Other musical genres included are: Oldies, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues.

The Chamber will also be selling Dreamland BBQ Sauce to raise money for our scholarship fund. So drop by the Chamber booth (children’s games) and pick up a quart of Dreamland sauce in time for your Memorial Day cookout.

Upcoming Events

The Chamber has a number of exciting events on the horizon. Our next Chamber function will be the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to be held at Hilldale Baptist Church on Friday March 11, 2010. The breakfast will begin at 7:00 a.m. and feature Ken Lass of CBS Channel 42. Miss Alabama and Miss Center Point will be performing. Tickets are available at the Chamber office or Center Point City Hall.

The 2nd annual Festival of the Springs will take place on Saturday April 30. If you would like to participate in this community wide event, please contact the Chamber office.

Barry Copeland of Blueprint Birmingham will be the guest speaker at our March luncheon which takes place on March 8 at City Hall. Call to confirm a reservation.

Sheriff Mike Hale, Fire Chief Howard Summerford and Center Point Mayor Tom Henderson attended our Open House and helped dedicate our new building.
